Composition and Guitar is the third book of the Understanding Music and Guitar Series. It builds upon information presented in the previous books, providing additional information about how music works. Many original songs are presented, intended to showcase all mainstream chord progressions. Then, it assesses how to substitute chords, borrow chords, and alter chords within those songs in order to create a more unique sound.

While previous books focus more on building requisite skillsets for guitarists, this book is aimed more toward how to write and/or understand what is being played. That being said, a bonus exersize is thrown in for those who wish to further develope their sweep picking technique.
